European Union law and competition law in particular, is finding an increasingly important role and application in the context of commercial exchanges and activities, also with regard to consumer protection. We assist our clients in the interpretation and application of E.U. law in a multitude of commercial scenarios including, in particular, mergers and acquisitions, joint venture agreements, intellectual property and information technology contracts, and in relation to key aspects of marketing, sales, pricing and distribution strategies.

In addition to the key areas of competition and the free movement of goods, services and capital, we deal with E.U. law and its impact in the field of industrial, corporate and commercial law, advising companies on the impact of competition law on a broad range of commercial contracts, including joint venture, licensing, distribution and franchise contracts.

We assist our clients in proceedings, including notifications, before the European Commission and the Competition and Markets Authority and also advise companies in proceedings initiated by the competition authorities with reference to restrictive agreements and abuses of dominant position, as well as assisting clients in the implementation of programmes aimed at competition compliance.

We offer advice in connection with merger transactions, also with regard to obtaining the necessary authorisations from the relevant Italian and E.U. authorities.
