As a result of the conversion of the complex of the former Manifattura Tabacchi the Tecnopolo has arisen in Bologna; and this centre is destined to become the European hub of research and technological development. Major research institutions in the fields of environment, energy, health and healthcare, industry 4.0 and big data are taking up offices in this citadel of science covering some 120 thousand square meters.
The Tecnopolo will host, among the many centres of excellence, two data centres of international scale, as well as the European supercomputer Leonardo, which is dedicated to high performance scientific computing.
In this scenario, in which the territory of Bologna is the catalyst for scientific research activities on the main issues affecting our entire planet, Cartwright Pescatore acts as legal advisor to some of the players involved in this project, including the International Foundation Big Data and Artificial Intelligence for Human Development (IFAB), which the Emilia-Romagna Region strongly desired and in which leading scientific institutions and companies at national level take part.
We are therefore pleased to announce the online event to be held on Thursday, January 21, in which IFAB, in collaboration with CMCC, UnipolSai, Leithà and Associazione Big Data, will present its first important initiative: a project to define a European index for the forecast of extreme climatic events.
